There are many different purposes; however, the most popular is still measuring the diameter of the drill bit or the cross-section of the cord as well as determining the size of the groove inside the workpiece; it is most convenient to use a caliper. This is a relative tool that is easy to use, although working with it requires some skill.

The scale is straightforward to use, but can only measure objects with very low accuracy. If the conditions of the problem impose a higher requirement on the measurement results, it is best to use a particular type of measuring device, called a caliper. This device allows the determination of internal and external dimensions of objects, as well as the depth of small holes.

A traditional digital caliper consists of a long bar equipped with a fixed jaw. A-frame with moving parts and screws stops moving along the bar. There are cuts on the flat surface of the bar, reproducing a ratio with a ratio of one millimeter. How to use the calipers

Using calipers, you can also measure a tenth of a millimeter. The caliper’s inner diameter for measuring is not too difficult. For this purpose, the tool has two slightly pointed sponges on the top. Measure with a digital caliper

When performing carpentry or plumbing often requires measurement of different holes. A standard-gauge is not very suitable for this, because it is difficult to measure, for example, a groove. Besides, it gives an accuracy of up to 1 mm, and this is not always enough. For a more accurate measurement, digital calipers are used, which allows for internal and external dimensions with an accuracy of 0, 1 mm.

  1. Consider an electronic caliper. The most common of them includes a bar with sponges. The sponge is fixed. There is a millimeter ratio on the bar. Its length is 150 mm.
